Cancellation policy Our preference is for clients to cancel 48 hours prior to a session. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointment will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. GP Mental Health Care Plan GP Mental Health Plan letters initially cover six sessions, followed by a four session review letter. If you think you want more than six sessions, please request a review from Dr Tania de Jong at your fifth or sixth session. Dr Tania de Jong will email you the review to take to your GP. Make an appointment and visit your GP to request another four sessions letter. When you have received your 4 session GP review letter (Mental Health Treatment Plan) email it to admin@latrobehealthcentre.com.au. The name of the psychologist you will be seeing is entered into the GP letter/plan by the GP. If you change the psychologist you are seeing, you will need to ask your GP to change the named psychologist on the plan. Clients are responsible for getting a copy of their mental health plan from their GP to us. Medicare Rebates To obtain a Medicare rebate, you will need a GP Mental Health Plan (see above) which you can send to us via admin@latrobehealthcentre.com.au. You will not be eligible to apply for Medicare rebates without this plan as both a GP plan and Medicare card details are needed Nationally by Medicare to be able to submit claims. Clients who are referred with a Mental Health Care Plan are eligible to receive a rebate for part of the cost of each session. Medicare provides a minimum rebate of $137.05 per session (2023) and substantially more including upto 85% more (can vary year to year as set by Medicare) if the client has reached the Medicare Safety Net Threshold within a calendar year January 1st- December 31st. To be eligible to get your rebate from Medicare you will need to ring LaTrobe Health Centre to provide your Medicare card details over the phone - (03) 5222 6868. To protect yourself, do NOT email or SMS your Medicare card details to us. Once we have your GP Plan and Medicare card details we can offer you the service of lodging your Medicare claim for you using encrypted software. Otherwise clients can claim their own rebates at MyGov. Clients are responsible for getting their GP Plans and Medicare card details to us. Private Health RebatesWe are registered providers with most Private Health Companies in Australia or may be able to arrange this if we are not already. Receipts can be made using Private Health HICAPS item numbers. Clients claim their own rebates back themselves after the session. Third Party InsuranceServices are not provided under TAC, WorkSafe, DVA, or NDIS schemes. Appointments A 55 minute hour is offered to clients. During the final 5 minutes of a 60 minute block after the session has ended, further service is given to clients where we process invoicing and or Medicare claims so clients can receive rebates. This saves clients the time of having to do their own Medicare claiming.
